What Is Serological Measuring Pipette
Apr 08, 2022
A pipette is a metering-out instrument that is used only to measure the volume of solution it releases. It is a slender glass tube with a bulge in the middle. The lower end is beak-shaped, and a marking line is engraved on the neck of the upper end, which is a sign of the exact volume taken.
Precautions
1. Pipettes (pipettes) should not be dried in an oven.
2. Pipettes (pipettes) cannot pipette solutions that are too hot or too cold.
3. The same pipette should be used whenever possible in the same experiment.
4. After use, the pipette should be rinsed with tap water and distilled water immediately, and placed on the pipette rack.
5. Pipettes and volumetric flasks are often used together, so the relative volumes of the two are often calibrated before use.
6. When using a pipette, in order to reduce the measurement error, the starting point should be from the uppermost scale (0 scale) each time, and the required volume of solution should be released down, instead of taking as much volume as needed.
7. There are old-fashioned and new-style pipettes. The old-fashioned tube body is marked with the word "Blow", and it is necessary to use an ear bulb to blow out the residual liquid at the mouth of the tube. There is no new type, do not blow out the residue of the nozzle, otherwise it will cause too much liquid.
