The Use Of Laboratory Condenser

Apr 23, 2021

Used in distilled liquids or organic preparations for condensation or reflux. Reflux device and distillation device are commonly used in condenser experiment devices.

Range of application: Use air condenser for steam temperature greater than 140 degrees Celsius, use straight condenser for temperature less than 140 degrees Celsius.

Condensation tubes are usually used on flasks for experiments under reflux conditions or distillation flasks for collecting condensed liquid. The condensation of vapor occurs on the inner wall of the inner tube. The space enclosed by the inner and outer pipes provides the function of absorbing steam heat and removing the heat for the water running area. There is often a high water pressure at the water inlet. To prevent the water pipe from falling off, the plastic pipe should be tied tightly with a tube bundle. When used under reflux, a rubber stopper should be inserted into the lower glass tube of the condenser so that it can be inserted into the mouth of the flask to receive the vapor that evaporates from the flask.
