Classification Of Urinary Catheters

According to the structure, it can be divided into the following categories:

1.Single lumen catheter: usually there is no air bag and only one channel, which is difficult to fix and has a short retention time.

1) Single lumen children's urinary catheter: the commonly used model f6-f10 is mainly used for children's urinary catheterization.

2) Single lumen standard urinary catheter: common model f12-f26, mainly used for temporary urinary catheterization.

3) Single lumen plum blossom head urinary catheter: the commonly used model f12-f28 is mainly used to drain urine after bladder or kidney ostomy.

4) Single lumen elbow urinary catheter: the commonly used model f12-f26, with a pointed head, is mainly used for men with prostatic hypertrophy.

2. Double lumen catheter: there are two lumens, one for water injection hole and the other for liquid outlet. It can be fixed and is mainly used for indwelling catheterization. As shown in Fig. 3.

1) Double lumen single bladder children's urinary catheter: the commonly used model is f6-f10, and the bladder capacity is usually 5ml. It is mainly used for children's indwelling urinary catheter.

2) Double lumen single bladder standard urinary catheter: the commonly used model is f12-f28. The bladder capacity is usually 10ml and 30ml. It is mainly used for normal indwelling urinary catheter without other restrictions.

3) Double lumen single bladder female urinary catheter: the commonly used model is f12-f24, and the bladder capacity is usually 30ml. It is used for female indwelling urinary catheter.

4) Double lumen single bladder elbow urinary catheter: the commonly used model is f12-f20, and the bladder capacity is usually 30ml. It is used for female indwelling urinary catheterization.

3. Three chamber catheter: there are three chambers - water injection chamber, drug injection chamber and liquid discharge chamber. As shown in Fig. 4. It is mainly used for short-term indwelling catheterization, intravesical drug infusion, irrigation, drainage.
